What is 2G Technology?
What is 2G Technology?

2G (2nd generation telecommunication technology) was released commercially in 1991 by Radiolinja in Finland. 2G network speeds were digitally encrypted. After the launched of 2G speed the previous Networks 1G was converted to 2G networks speed. 1G networks were encrypted analogically. 1G speed was mostly used in using radio signals etc.

This 2G networks change the world into a new way of networking in the 90's. The most useful benefits of 2G networks features Sms (short message service), MMS (Multimedia Message service) and pictures messages, etc. 2G Network speeds also offered the use Of internet called Mobile Data. Second generation technology Smartphones are launched on GSM Standards. All text messages that we send from 2G networks are digitally encrypted allowing us the transfer of data in such a way that the receiver can only receive the message and can read it.

The average speed of internet on mobiles in 90's called mobile data offered only a speed of 40 kbps to 80 kbps averagely. These speeds were very slow and when we download any file it takes 14 minutes minimum to download a small size file. Thus 2Gnetworks were spreading very quickly in the 90's to 2005 not approximately. With GPRS you have a theoretical speed of 40 kit/s which you can use on your mobile phones and with the Edge 2G service you have an average data transfer speed of 250 bit/s.

In late ninety's the enhanced services of 2G, called GPRS and Edge data transfer were founded. These two terms were also better than 2G simple networks. Thus 2G networks were considered very Good and effective back in the ninety's.

Advantages and Disadvantages of 2G networks

1. 2G networks were founded More Smoothly than that of 1G networks.Because these networks are Digitally encrypted and 1G networks were analogically encrypted.

2. These networks are considered more effective because it uses the transfer of data to send any kind of Text messages, Multimedia message and Picture messages that allowing the users to only receive that messages and read it.

3. The most common disadvantage of 2G services was that in less populated areas the signals are not covered and it causes the problem of low mobile signals.

4. Digitally voice calls are also very Good and smooth as compare to Analogically signals from 1G technology.

So this is the full Brief information on 2G networks speeds we do our best to provide you best article about 2G networks.
